新西兰潮属总会简介

新西兰潮属总会成立于2014年12月3日,创会会长为旅居新西兰的爱国侨胞张乙坤,会址设于位于奥克兰市Onehunga区。现任第四届主要领导有董事会主席许少波、会长陈润沁、监事会主席符之浩、执行会长兼潮属商会会长王锡钢、执行会长兼潮属青年联谊会会长唐苑君等。

新西兰潮属总会坚持「以仁为本,止于至善」为宗旨,传承潮汕文化为目的,以乡音乡情为连结纽带,旨在团结来自各地区的潮人同胞,同心同德促进新西兰与祖籍国的交往合作,使两地双赢共荣,目前总会管理层和会员涵盖中、港、澳、越南、老挝、柬埔寨等潮裔移民。

新西兰潮属总会成立后,在会长张乙坤及全体老﹑中﹑青理监事骨干努力与广大会员支持下,会务蒸蒸日上。在创会会长张乙坤等领导为核心的新西兰申办团队不懈努力和全体会员的有力支持,2017年4月25日,在第十九届国际潮团联谊年会团长秘书长会议上,总会成功获得了第二十届国际潮团联谊年会主办权。

2019年9月22日以“潮起千帆,笃行致远”主旨的第二十届国际潮团联谊年会在奥克兰Sky City Convention Center隆重拉开帷幕。

来自全世界120多个国家和地区的两千多名潮汕精英相聚于美丽的“千帆之都”奥克兰。以传统的毛利欢迎仪式揭开序幕﹐国际潮团总会主席张乙坤代表新西兰潮属总会热烈欢迎来自潮汕地区的代表团。

第二十届国际潮团联谊年会以全球潮团联谊交流平台,以联络乡梓,促进乡情,推动潮商发展为大会主旨,实现了世界潮汕乡亲大团结、大发展的成果。受到了来自世界各地潮属社团的一致肯定。

更为难能可贵的是新西兰潮属总会领导层人人热心公益事业,其中不乏为社会做出过杰出贡献并获得政府表彰的个人。如创会会长张乙坤连获新西兰国民英雄奖章和新西兰国家荣誉勋章,名誉会长王觉杰曾荣列 Manukau 名人堂及获颁新西兰国家功绩勋章,秘书长林爽获英女王服务勋章,第二届会长郑时佳、第三届会长陈植均担任太平绅士,执行会长黄敏仪或新西兰国民英雄奖章。在潮属总会的带动下,总会会员积极参与社会公益和志愿活动,积极主办新西兰急救中St John、奥克兰脑退化症协会、奥克兰精神卫生服务机构Framework等一系列慈善推广及筹款活动。国际潮团年会筹备和举办过程中,新西兰潮属总会全体工作人员和数百志愿者无不全情投入,彰显了总会潮籍侨胞的团结、担当和热情,使使参会的潮籍乡亲得到了亲人般的细心接待和热情关照,每个细节都使与会者感受到宾至如归的温馨。

作为旅居海外的潮属社团,总会积极参与祖国内地的各项交流活动,踊跃参与内地经济建设,倾情奉献社团的力量,为祖籍国的经济发展和社会进步做出贡献。总会属下的潮属青年联谊会也活跃与侨居国的社区活动,多次组织青年会员参加Metro-Park 植树活动、2019年青年领导力论坛,举办“何种食物可带入新西兰境内”等讲座,引导青年会员融入当地社会,

此外总会属下的潮属商会也为新西兰的經濟发展做出功不可沒的贡献。

 

Teo Swa General Association of New Zealand

Established on December 3, 2014, the Teo Swa General Association of New Zealand, founded by Yikun Zhang residing in New Zealand, is located in Onehunga, Auckland. The current leaders of the fourth board include Chairman of the Board of Directors Shaobo Xu, Board of the Teo Swa General Association of New Zealan Runqin Chen, Chairman of the Supervisory Board Zhihao Fu, Chairman of the Chao Shan Chamber of Commerce Xigang Wang, and Chairman of the Chao Shan Youth Association Yuanjun Tang.

The Teo Swa General Association of New Zealand upholds the principle of “benevolence as the foundation, reaching the ultimate goodness,” aiming to inherit Teochew culture, connect with Teochew people through shared roots and sentiments, and unite Teochew individuals from various regions. It strives to promote exchanges and cooperation between New Zealand and the home country, fostering mutual prosperity. Currently, the association’s management and members encompass immigrants of Teochew origin from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and other regions.

Since its establishment, the association has thrived under the leadership of Founding Chairman Yikun Zhang and the dedicated support of its members. Notably, at the Secretary-General’s meeting during the 19th Convention of International Teochew Federation in 2017, the association successfully secured the hosting rights for the 20th Convention of International Teochew Federation. The 20th convention, themed “Chao Rises with a Thousand Sails, Diligence Leads to the Farthest Distance,” commenced on September 22, 2019, at the Sky City Convention Center in Auckland.

Representatives from over 120 countries and regions worldwide, including more than two thousand elite individuals of Teochew descent, gathered in the picturesque “City of Sails,” Auckland. The event began with a traditional Maori welcome ceremony, and Founding Chairman Yikun Zhang, on behalf of the Teo Swa General Association of New Zealand, warmly welcomed the delegations from the Teochew region all over the world.

The 20th Convention of International Teochew Federation focused on being a global platform for Teochew elites to foster connections, promote hometown sentiments, and drive the development of Teochew businesses. It achieved significant success in uniting Teochew compatriots worldwide and promoting their collective growth, receiving unanimous recognition from Teochew associations globally.

Notably, the leadership of the Teo Swa General Association of New Zealand is actively engaged in philanthropic endeavors, with several individuals receiving commendations from the government for outstanding contributions. Founder Chairman Yikun Zhang has been consecutively awarded the New Zealand National Hero Medal and National Honor Medal. Honorary Chairman Kit Wong was honored in the Manukau Hall of Fame and received the New Zealand National Achievement Medal. Secretary-General Shuang Lin was awarded the Queen’s Service Medal by the British monarch. Chairman of the second board Shijia Zheng and Chairman of the third board Zhi Chen both served as Justices of the Peace, while Executive Chairman Manyi Wong received the New Zealand National Hero Medal.

Under the guidance of the association, its members actively participate in social welfare and volunteer activities. They organize charitable events such as St John Ambulance in New Zealand, the Auckland Dementia Association, and Framework, an Auckland mental health service organization. During the preparation and execution of Convention of International Teochew Federation, the entire staff of the Teo Swa General Association of New Zealand and hundreds of volunteers wholeheartedly dedicated themselves, showcasing the unity, responsibility, and warmth of Teochew compatriots and ensuring that attendees felt a welcoming and caring atmosphere in every detail.

As an overseas Teochew society residing in New Zealand, the association actively engages in various exchange activities with the mainstream society, actively contributes to the economic development of the local society, and generously contributes to the progress of the homeland’s economy and society. The Chao Shan Youth Association, under the association, actively participates in community activities in New Zealand, organizing events such as tree planting at Metro-Park and the 2019 Youth Leadership Forum. They also host lectures such as “What Foods Can be Brought into New Zealand,” guiding young members to integrate into the local community.

Additionally, the Chao Shan Chamber of Commerce, under the association, has made indispensable contributions to the economic development of New Zealand.
